Many still have jobs. For the first time in decades ownership competes favorably with renting - even before tax effects and appreciation

CA home ownership percentage never got to 60% even during the boom; hence pent up demand. This contrasts with the US max of about 68%

I know first time buyers that are getting increasingly disillusioned because they can't get an offer accepted among the flurry of competition . I know flippers that have made millions in that last 18 months

Re: California Home Prices in Ounces of Gold

I don't want to buy home now. So, I need not to be panic of it. Anyway, it is a useful post for someone.

Re: California Home Prices in Ounces of Gold

Actually the curent global crisis has determined housing prices to go down while gold went up. That surely created a rift between the parallel pricing. Gold seems to have won a lot with the crisis as its price went sky high compared to what it used to be. People that invested in gold would have won a lot of money with the global crisis.
___________________________________________________
Buying Gold Online

Re: California Home Prices in Ounces of Gold

So if I pawn all my jewelry I think I can afford to buy only one room from an entire house. When did the real estate market get so expensive?
Orlando locksmith

Re: California Home Prices in Ounces of Gold

Great article. It appears that on Wall Street, home builders are finally in the bottoming process. Lennar Homes (LEN) looks solid but there is not telling how long a sideways bottoming process can last.

Re: California Home Prices in Ounces of Gold

you will see the same pattern if you price it in Euro or another currency
